Patina Miller
Miller performed the role of lead in the 1972 Stephen Schwartz Broadway show "Pippin". In the show, Tony Award winning director Diane Paulus directed "Pippin" in addition to was starring Matthew James Thomas and Andrea Martin. Terrence Mann and Matthew James Thomas were the actors who also starred. Patina has put her own contemporary version of the award-winning Ben Vereen's role and could master the Fosse actions that are essential to the production. Patina received an Tony Award for Best Performance of an Actress in the Leading Role within a Musical and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical as well as Drama League, Fred and Adele Astaire Award, and Broadway.com Audience Choice Award nominations for the performances. Her previous role was Leading actor in the American Repertory Theater in "Pippin" which ran from December 2012 through January 2013. Miller made her Broadway debut in the 2011 Broadway season as the gutsy nightclub-singer-turned-nun "Deloris Van Cartier" in the stage adaptation of "Sister Act", which earned her first Tony nomination, as well as Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award nominations for her performance.
